An alternative to the Redecker Union Fiber Pot brush, these white teakwood handled dishwashing brushes are ideal for general dishwashing or vegetable cleaning. The bristles are made of medium-weight agave fiber grown, harvested, sun-dried, and processed in Mexico using traditional techniques to ensure high quality and strong natural fiber.
Each brush can be used for 1-3 months. Make sure to not submerge or soak the wooden parts in water for a long period of time. The handle has a light non-toxic wood coating to increase longevity however, the wood will naturally age and crack slightly after use.
Continue using this brush until the bristles no longer work, then compost or bury in the garden or dispose of in compost waste bin. Stop using the brush and replace it if you see any mold growth.
Hang to dry or place in a dry spot after using it. To disinfect, mix vinegar and water in a shallow bowl (enough to cover the bristles) and let sit for 20-30 minutes.
Note: Worried about teak being endangered? The species of teak used in these brushes is a different one called, White Teakwood. It is a very fast-growing species (similar to bamboo) and even considered a weed in some countries because it grows so fast.
