We're seeking a part-time, eco-minded team member to work directly with our awesome community of conscious shoppers. This role offers opportunity for growth within our expanding sustainable business.

Position Overview

Engage and educate customers about sustainable products, manage refill services, maintain shop cleanliness, and contribute to PUBLIC's zero-waste mission. This position is critical in creating a welcoming and clean environment, encouraging more low-waste swaps and a bigger impact!

Schedule

·      4-5 days per week, must have some weekend availability

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

·      Greet customers and provide product recommendations

·      Manage refill services (pouring, scooping, pumping!)

·      Maintain shop cleanliness and organize displays

·      Process deliveries and manage inventory

·      Fulfill online orders

·      Complete opening/closing procedures

Customer Engagement & Growth

·      Build customer relationships and stay current on sustainability trends

·      Contribute innovative ideas to expand our environmental impact through products, processes, and community outreach

·      Support social media and merchandising efforts

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

·      Passion for sustainable, low-waste, or zero-waste lifestyle and practices

·      Excellent customer service and communication skills

·      Ability to provide personalized, one-on-one service

·      Understanding of sales processes (both online and in-store)

·      Reliable, accountable, and punctual

·      Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Experience

·      No prior experience required

·      Previous retail or customer experience preferred
